I was equally unhappy with the steering geometry, the tippy trail manners and the ski darting of my sled. I honestly feel that the 2008-2009 Nytro MTX's want to ride you and not the other way around!!!

Fortunately fixing the problem is not difficult and will make a world of difference IMHO.

If money is a problem, the order will help you focus on the less expensive solutions first.

1. Adjust your ski's to the widest setting by bringing both bolt collars to the inside of the stance. (Fixes the tippy trail manners.)

2. Purchase a pair of twin carbides from Yamaha or an aftermarket dealer and replace the "knife" carbides you have now. (Fixes the ski darting.)

3. Buy the OFT relocate kit and install it. It will move your steering forward and up and is a huge benefit when boon-docking. (Changes the goofy steering geometry that we all loathe.)

Make the changes in the above order and prepare to love your Nytro for the first time!! My Nytro is finally a boon-docking monster and most of my friends ride Dragon 800's.

Be sure and check that your Nytro is properly clutched for your riding area. Mine wasn't and is factory set for over 10,000 feet (I ride between 5000-8000 feet). :o| It was a dog until I complained to my dealer, and now I can't believe the difference.

Other changes that I feel are necessary is a better track (perhaps extend to 162) Powerclaw or Camoplast Extreme 2.5 if your snow conditions are deep and fluffy. Trail tank for longer range, new running boards and a Timbersled rear skid.

Enjoy! Al

OFT Racing, he is on here all the time and builds some real nice parts.

Thanks for the tips. What do you have now for clutching?

Moving the collars to the inside makes the stance narrower. I have mine narrowed up with a CR relocate kit, not as nice as the OFT but only $25. Last but not least on your list should be a set of Float X shocks
