Well I waited until 2/10 to see why they kid napped Johnny and Bunny and for what a 162 maverick track and float shocks @ 12600, call me pick but I hate maverick tracks. Now what buy a new 08 or 09 or a used nytro or stick will doo. At lesast with with a doo I can get a new sled every year.

Well I didn't jump ship but I did buy and 08 with a Mtm tamer and a 155" track. After about 300 miles of riding it I can't make up my mind if it is a keeper or not. Maybe it's just the spring snow but it is so nose heavy it is a work out to ride. I have removed the sway bar and the front shocks are as tight as they can go, does anyone have any suggestion?

Oooh man, I waited all night to get signed up to this site so I could respond! I Just picked up a 08 MTX today and took it out for a dig and thought exactly what you did. It seemed to push hard when you let off, and I thought well maybe its the super sticky snow so I tried a few different susp settings and still no dice and I too was beat after an hour of riding. It also needs to be clutched really bad, it revs out but you dont get anywhere. So I threw up in my mouth a little bit and am wondering if my purchase was a mistake.

Nytro handling??
Don't give up yet, I installed some simmon skis and they made a big difference in the spring snow. Still needs more weight in the clutch, got the rpms down from the rev limiter to 9300 and gained 6 mph. The more I ride it the more the 4 stroke engine impresses me and the more I think it could loose 50 lbs off the nose and a 162" track.mdwils said:Oooh man, I waited all night to get signed up to this site so I could respond! floats on the front made a PROFOUND difference!!! I got teh FLoat2's and they made this sled insanely better on trails, in pow, and all around...I also ordered a Skinz Float plate but have not installed it yet...
it is still not as nimble as the 09 M8, but it is much better than most 09 sleds...

The primary clutch actually needs less weight, smaller rollers, weights with more curvature and a lighter spring. 162" fits real nice too. Lose 38# with the Timbersled rear skid and hold on!!!

Any suggestions where to start? I'll look into whats in the clutches as soon as I can, the previous owner was told it was tuned for mountains right now and I'm in the deep snow flatlands, 1400' ASL. All I can tell you right now is both springs are black. I'm going to definately keep this setup for my trip to Valemont but I gotta change this ASAFP for home riding.

Money pit!!?
A couple questions

Will a 162 track help a bunch, i have a power claw on the way.

Ok have 600 mile now and we have some fresh powder to play in. Friday about kick my butt after 40 miles in the soft snow i was ready to hit the pick up. Tried to turn around to the right mid hill to go back to the top and rolled it, ended up rolling twice before the ride was over and i wouldn't have even thought twice about it on the doo. Is there some thing wrong with the set up, everyone is saying how much easier a nytro is to handle. I did learn they can be upside down for a short time with out any oil loss, I did roll it 3 more time to get it unstuck and with the round shape it is easer then rolling the doo over.
The 155 poo track and mountain tamer skid work way way better then the stock nytro, It took him 5 runs in my track make to my mark and on a left hand side hill he had to hold a level line and i could pull a good uphill line
The clutching, I didn't change the spring and the rollers just added a rivet now it is tacking 92 on the road and the hills is 85 to 88.
I do love driving up to the gas pump and filling it up and never looking under the hood or checking the belt , in fact i don't even think about the belt.
