Has anyone had any bearing or chaincase problems with the Venture RS.
Just before I reached my destination today I could hear a grinding sound coming from somewhere down in the front. It sounded like a bearing on the drive shaft. I will check it out tomorrow. I did manage to get to my truck on my own but the noise is very evident. This is my first yamaha and so far I have had my share of trouble (2400 mi ) I hope this doesn't keep up. I have had several polaris snowmobiles with 10-15 thousand miles with little or no trouble. I hope this is only growing pains for these new sleds

Next year I am changing to the new viking professional .

IF its a grinding noise (sounds like something is hitting the track, and it's low in the clutch side, then it's a good chance it's the drive-axle bearing. Did you notice if your speedometer quit working too?

went to the dealer today and had it checked out, bearing in chancase was the problem and the other one worn so they replaced that one as well. speedo was still working. so far this season that's bearing slide rail and slide on 2400 mi. never had to replace a drive shaft bearing in either one of the polaris sleds that I owned. Yamaha should look at putting bearings that can be greased. ( sqeaky wheels get the grease) Other than that thou I really like the sled , well the engine anyhow.... enough to buy another yammy....
