The extended unitsWhat length heaters did you use? I see there's 2 options, standard and extended.I thought the factory ones covered the hooks but maybe they don't?

I rarely have issues with heat at the palm of my hand, however the back of my hands and fingertips getting freezing cold happens all too often when the wind kicks up. I have the skinz hand protectors and i feel like they help a bit, but there are times when i need to constantly be rotating them to block the wind wraping from underneath. Unfortunately skinz closing up shop means i will never get to try out thier grizzly gauntlet, which is probably the answer to my cold hands.

That sums up my situation to a tee.It even affects my feet these days as I have an extremely difficult time keeping my feet warm for the whole day at times.IMO "comfortable" hand/finger temp varies greatly from rider to rider. What is comfortable for one, might be too cold or too warm for someone else. It's like room temperature. For those of us more "mature" riders who have frostbit our hands a few times (back in old days, handlebar heaters weren't as common nor did they work as well as today, and glove technology was not as developed as it is now) my hands are more sensitive now and get cold easier for sure. That changes the whole equation for sure.

The klim muffs are a godsend to me. I run grips and thumb on low or off no matter how cold. I can't just leave them on. Also my badass super insulated fxr gloves are colder due to keeping the grip heat away from my hands. Wearing my worn out cat gloves from 1992.

i had yamaheaters and thumb boost on my apex and it needed it, my winder is great no problems nice n warm, i seen sumplace think sled tv or sumthin gye sprayed insulation inside handlebar to aid in keepin em warm , i thought was a decent idea to help the bar hold the heat

My 08 nytro warmers are waaaay better than my 17 winder. Winder ones are terrible
Really? I couldn't be happier with mine. Waaaay hotter than the all-Japan models.

My thumb warmer quit working on my '17 the first season I had it. Replaced under warranty. I added the KIim gauntlets, which are a game changer. I use very thin Klim liner gloves. I have to turn the warmers off on occasion. On my last ride I didn't even have my gloves on with the warmers off. As stated above, it's the close contact that will allow the heat to go through. If you're using thick gloves, you're not doing yourself any favors. If you don't like the gauntlets and think they don't look cool enough, at least use one of the other protectors, as mentioned above. I have a set of Skinz on my Apex and that even made a huge difference. The Japan hand/thumb warmers just don't work as well as the AC set up. The only thing I don't care for is the high/low settings. I like the thermostat concept on the Japan models better (where it shows bars and you can go up and down with them to adjust to your desired heat setting.)

Yea i guess wouldn't hurt to put hand guards on. Both my 08 nytro and 07 attak are way better than my sidewinder. My thumb warmer quit working on my '17 the first season I had it. i cant run mine on high on my 2020, far too hot
My 2019 SW Thumb and Handwarmers work great! I would say they are almost as good as my Apex with Yamaheaters as I can rarely have them on full heat.
