I posted a similar question like this in another forum and it was not well received...my question is: what would be wrong if Yamaha came out with a larger CC motor that was FI and V-Twin??

my theory is that two cylinders do not work as hard as one, the sound would be balanced, and we all know the bennies of FI is....one of the users stated that atvs should not have these types of things...I'm thinking to myself "you still listen to 8 tracks and drive a Vega"?

I want the baddest Grizz Yammy can make...like my man Tim the Tool man would say "more power!"

thoughts on this?

Definately not!! But I can't complain about the reliability and speed of the current one either,,, heck go snag a Raptor 700 if you wanna go REALLY fast!!

more power is always a good thing-the mags surely give the kawasaki's brute force great reviews on the power comparisons.i would think fuel injection would be a great upgrade too.personally i think it's fast enough for its intended purpose-i would take the fuel injection over the larger cc's if it meant better mileage.

Its nice to see that other grizzly owners feel that the grizz is fast enough for the type of riding we do. Sure i would like to have more low end but over all the grizzly is a beast!!! I have 26x12x12 on all 4's and I still have more then enough power, I have never, ever, ever wanted or needed to go faster then what i needed at the time and to be honest i'm not even sure how fast it will go..Ive have never pegged it other then going up a steep climb and even then it was never at full throttle.
anyway just my 2 cents.

I like the Grizz as it is....Single cylinder, less hassle to troubleshoot problems and parts to replace when the time comes. EFI is tough to work on when in the middle of nowhere, and your not getting fuel for some unknown reason.....I like it simple and trustworthy. If I wanted faster, the Raptor 700r and the YFZ450's are at the dealership ready for a new owner all the time.

BTW, the 450's will cure your need for speed! Wow! :yam:

I just sold my banshee that I had over $10,000 in to get a grizzly. You wanna see fast.... WOW!!! UNTOUCHABLE AND STILL TRAILABLE but Im over my speed years and I want a nice cruiser that I can take anywhere thats why I got the grizzly. Now don't get me wrong, although I think its fast enough for its intended purpose and I love the performance from the motor I would never mind seeing a bigger one and since all the other manufacturers are comming out with HUGE motors I think its only a matter of time before yammi puts a bigger motor in the grizzly. Personally I predict that in a year or so you are gunna see the same 686 fuelie that the raptor has in the grizzlys and rhinos.

June 12 is when Yamaha usually releases there new quads. I hope at the very least it will get the raptor 700 engine but a 750-800 cc twin EFI would be even better. :4STroke:
