gut 04 rx-1 muffler, sled runs like crap. help please!

Not really as these carbs run on different circuits the pilot circuit being one. Each circuit should seamlessly go into the next circuit up or down. It is stumbing from the pilot to the midrange which is why I feel the carbs and jets need to be cleaned. One of my rx1 was stumbling in the midrange and it was the power jets that had a film of varnish on them. Once I found that and cleaned them she was running like a top.

wow, i think you nailed it. i thought idle relied on pilot only. this makes the most sense. will clean carbs this weakend and ill let you know. thanks. after this problem is resolved i am gonna do the airbox mod you did with this jetting-22.5 pilot, 167.5 main- sound good to you? cold up here in northern maine. also do you think i should put softer springs in carbs or run it as is. does anyone ever raise the needle at all? ive never heard a word on here about raising needles.{or lowering the clips}

my 03 rx does this every year it clears up every time i take it for the first ride down the road i use good stableizer and run the unit monthly over the summer my 01 fz1 motorcycle does the same thing its like the valves are slightly hanging up due to the black cloud of smoke comming out of the exhaust indicating a incomplete burn/rich mixture

Instead of stabilizer try sea foam in the tank at end of season and run it a bit.Ive never had to clean my carbs in 12000 miles. The stuff is getting pricy but it works.
