Damaged the adjusting collar on the f/r GYTR of my '09 Apex GTLTX. Contacted local dealer who in turn contacted the regional Ohlins dealer and had the shock sent out. Once shock arrived and was discovered not to be a true Ohlins shock it was sent back as they cann't do anything with it. Apparently Yamaha doesn't service these items, have to buy a total new shock? Anyone else come across this before and have any solutions?

Lots of shops service these shocks. Anyone that does Soqi shocks can service them.

Having a hard time understanding not being able to purchase a part for a component from the manufacturer of one of, if not, the most expensive sleds on the market. Helps justify its high cost.

As long as i have worked at yamaha i have never seen a break down of the internal parts of ANY yamaha supplied shock.... Unlike other brands yamaha doesnt hand out their shim/valving specs to dealers..... If you have a problem i would be looking at one of the site shock dealers they will hook you upand it will be less than a new shock
