Friend and I were riding on the lake this weekend and all of a sudden a large fog bank rolled in. I had a GPS and friend didn't. We slowed down and keep rolling. I noticed we were heading straight at an island so started turning away from it. Next thing I know I felt a small wobble from the rear end. He hit me on the left rear of the running board. It bent the running board down and in. THe bend starts about half way from the front of the running board and is worse the further back you go. At the back it is in about 1" and bent down 1". No damage or impact to the heat exchangers. I just need to pull the aluminum back out and straighten. Any tips to working with aluminum?? Any good tools I should use?? Heat or no heat?? Any help would be great guys! I'll try to get a pic up.

Cover with cardboad or rubber and bend with cresentwrench or pipe wrench . stat at frount and go a litttle at atime to the rear . may take a few runs through it but should come strait . use a clamp to hold tunnel from bending up or down when prying .

Thanks!
Would removing the grip edge and replace with a new one once done be worth it. It isn't damaged just bent. I am just thinking it may straighten easier without the extra "support" from the edge......

Probably best to leave the edge on it will support the lenght while bending back . it should not take much just don't go too much at a time so as to distort metal . I have done a few of them that way most go back fairly easy and hardly noticable .
