I guess just the major roads are open at this point?
Hard to belive that an hours drive could make a big difference. I'm looking at green grass on my front lawn. How much snow is there???

They have a fair bit of snow.
They have packed the trails with their groomer....about 100km open.
Nice first of the year ride!
It was snowing like crazy there testerday too....could hardly see when riding!

They just started grooming North of Bancroft, and rumour is some of the lakes have about 5" of ice on them. They are calling for some snow in the area tonight but mild with rain tommorrow. My lake had a thin layer over it when I woke up this morning, but I am staring at green well brown grass right now.

They are not gromming in the Bancroft area yet. The grommers are just out packing the trails. They have to build up a good base before they can start to groom. That is why the trails do not legally open right away. Creek beds have to be packed, swamps have to be packed etc. Trails do not officially open till all the trail criteria is meet. This is strictlly for insurance purposes.
