anyone got the instructions or close up pics of thier hand guards mounted on a 06' apex. didnt get any w/ the ones i bought used and dont think thier going to fit. than ks
I have PowerMadd on my Attak with the PowerMadd brackets, I made them fit by using an utility knife to cut 1/4 inch of the bar grips off near the throttle and light switches on the bar. Have to be careful not to cut the bar warmers. Then moved the throttle and light switch over until there was enough room for the gaurd mount. By cutting I was able to have the bar warmer wires hang below the guard mounts and out of the way. Not great pics but hope this helps.
here is a pic of the ones i have. im not even sure whichside is up lol they are cycra's
after looking at your pics again i realized your brackets are right behind the end of the grips. did you move your controls to make romm for them as my controls are right agaist the heated grips? thanks
to make room I cut some of the rubber of the grip. being careful not to cut the warmer wires, and I did move the controls over but only 1/8 of an inch, but looking at your guards they may go on the inside of the controls as the mounting bracket sticks past the guard itself.

I have the same hand guards on my Apex, and they do work without making any mods. I personally don't think they work the best in terms of wind protection though - I ended up putting Skinz Gear covers over the guards. The way that you have guards in your pictures is what is considered "up".
Here are a couple pictures of mine. Not the best because of the snow, but you can see that mine were mounted on the inside of the controls. You can also partially see the part where they bolt onto the handlebar.
