I just put a taller windshield on myapex rtx and was wondering if there are any shorter hand guard brackets as my guards now hit windshield in tight turn would really like to keep them on if at all possible. I need them alittle closer to my hands so they will clear the windshield

I'm considering a small riser on mine but just don't know how tall to go or what would work best?
I am thinking, (because I am on the short side) of just getting the bare minimum height in order to clear the shield.

Irv....you want to make sure you don't get the ape hanger effect when putting a riser on...I like my arms straight out infront when sitting, which usually equate to them being slightly bent when standing...you just have to mimic where you want them by pretending what height you want them in a seated and standing position ( that is if you do stand up riding ) then do your best guess.
apexrtxman63...you may not need hand guards anymore if your windshield is high enough...I don't think anyone elses brackets would get them much closer...you may have to go to a store and take some measurements to see. I've had powermadds handguards before and they seemed to stick out farther than my factory Yamaha ones do....unless you know someone that can fabricate something.

Thanks Shadow, definitely not looking for the ape hanger effect, just something tall enough in order for my PowerMad handguards to clear the windshield.
In all honesty, I am not even sure I need the handguards, I just purchased them mainly for the mirror option, which I wanted but did not want to drill holes in my sled.(was planning a trip to QB and they are req'd)
I will check shortly and see where the bars are when seated, I don't normally stand a lot and with this new to me more rider forward sled, I can't see me standing a whole lot at all?
Thanks for the info

Wouldn't raising your bars over your new windshield defeat some of its pupose?
How about those soft hand gaurds? My bud has them on his Vec and loves them.

Yea, it certainly would but in order to have some mirrors, I see no ther option?
With a riser, I am looking more for something that is not high but more adjustable so I can tilt the bars back some and maybe get the clearance I am after.
Just not sure if something exists like this?

My friend has a prostetic leg, below the knee. He wishes he could get the bars back to him, without raising them. I've wrote Rox and 1 or 2 other companys with no reply, must have too much money? So if you find a riser that works for you, let me know. 08 Vector.
Thanks, Mike.
Thanks, Mike.

If you guys want to move your bars back but at same height as now.You could install a 2" rox and just pivot the bottom portion straight back and then your bars straight up.( Might look weird but )The other way would be to completely replace the stock setup with a apex adapter,5" pivot riser.That setup will raise the bars 1" overstock though.
2"rox=$75
adapter=$45
5" rox=$90

Irv, I went with a stock Apex Mountain riser. Got just enough height for me. With the stock windshield my hand guards just touched at max turn. Now with the low windshield I have no issue at all.
