What about both kits together???
I have Yamaheaters on my Apex, and must say at -20 Celcius, i ran on the red light all day and didn't burn my hands, so are they working ok??
and if i put both systems on at the same time??..

Most likely yes.
The output will vary from sled to sled, just because the grip resistance will vary from sled to sled.
You can use both at the same time, actually has some great advantages as a pair.
The RSIs work well at full throttle, but take forever to get warm just because there's almost no power going to them at lower throttle settings or while trail riding.
Wire to the High element and they will last a long time.

what is yamaha charging for the new heaters? one of mine quit yesterday so i am gonna check it today see if it is still in one piece or if there is a break in the element.

I bought the kit for the hooked bars. Will insttall this week. List price was $104.99. My price was around $80. I am hoping it will work better than my current grips. My current grips are good down to 15 dec f. Below that they struggle. Thinking of adding foam in the bars before I install the new hand warmers.

If I may - I would like to add another option to the almost confusion list of options we have to fix the handwarmer issue. Up to now, I think this is what we have available:
1) Rockmeister's kit ... proven fix.
2) Find some '06 bars and wire them up the super-hot way ... proven fix with some being cautious of damage to the ECU (after 2 years I have yet to read of any failures)
3) Go with RSI heaters & grips and wire them up the super-hot way ... proven fix
4) Foaming the bars ... very subjective results
Rockmeister's kit has had great feedback on the results from many on the site. I've used the '06 bars wired super-hot in the past and it does work great. But I can't stand my pinky fingers getting cold because of the aluminum hooks and short heater elements. I've also used the RSI setup wired super hot, and it also works great. Many other have used this with great results as well. I tried the bar foaming trick and it didn't do a thing ... while others may say this works, I don't really think so.
With that said, I tried another trick that after riding in sub-zero temps recently, I can say it does work! I purchased the RSI heater elements and grips from Dennis Kirk (about $65) .... we all now know that this same kit is the one showing up the Yamaha accessories catalog. Before I installed them, I got a roll of cork. You can find this in any automotive store for about $2-$3. It is a roll of cork about 1/16" thick typically used for making engine gaskets. I put a layer of that on the bars first, then installed the heater elements over the cork and then put on the grips. The RSI heater elements were wired up as the instructions state (I did not wire them up the super-hot way as I was experimenting, and figured I could always re-wire later). I found that this past weekend, the setup works great! You can effectively used the entire range of heat that the settings on the sled have. The get really hot (but not burn your hands hot), and they will keep their heat for a longer period of time after turning the sled off.
Go with whatever setup works for you. But I thought I would add an option to the list that now has proven results.

With #2 & #3 you have some serious Stator loading issues.
(You can't magically make power from thin air, it always comes from somewhere, in this case, the stator.)
Have not seen any ECU failures from the Rockerdan mod at all & I don't believe we will either, however, HAVE seen Stator failures.
Saw another this weekend.
There was a Stator failure with the handlebar mod sitting in the garage where I purchased my clutch last weekend.
#3 also has an issue with the elements themselves failing, If they are wired correctly, they are tough & will last a long time, wired improperly, they are not likely to last long.
#4 Is for those that believe anything. lol
#5 The cork (Insulation) idea works well, it makes the grips more efficient.
The heating isn't as even, but when you are freezing, you don't really care how even the heat is! lol
It makes the Thermal Mass of the grips less, which makes them heat up (& cool down) faster.
The insulation between the grips & the bars also cuts way down on the heatsink effect of the bars.
