Welcome to the forums!
Here are the yamaha guards with the the plastic mounts that mount to the back of the controls.
I went with the plastic vs. aluminum for flexibility (I have broken a few of the aluminum mounts in the past).

I just ordered the PowerMadds for my 2014 XTX. I have the same as shown by wavemaster above but I am not a fan of how far they stick out. I have the mid windshield and have hit the shield too many times. I'm hoping that the PowerMadds will be a little shorter.

I'm going with Ghost guards.

Use the (SKINZ TRAIL SERIES) Large hand coverage, nothing to break. Threw them in the washer at the end of last season and they look brand new. I mounted them with just the Velcro straps and did not use the two pads supplied with them.

How do the aftermarket ones mount. I don't see any room for brackets. Not a fan of the yamaha hand guard look...

I had issues with my Powermadd in mounting. I sent them back. I was considering the Rox Flextec but can't stomach the price. I'm leaning toward teh SKINZ trail series based on ease of mounting and price. Gave them a good look at the snow show and they look super easy to install and offer plenty of protection from the wind.

Ive got the skinz on mine you can mount them on the outside edge with velcro or the bolt through the endo of the handlbar hook. They do give great protection but are tight to the hands. Large gloves are tight in them.

Passed through the airport on Monday. You got more snow than we do up here but it's been good and cold here and the lakes and rivers are freezing nicely.
Currently not scheduled for any games in Minny but coming through again on Tuesday on my way to Orlando for a college basketball tournament over Thanksgiving.
Bring on the snow !!!
