Noticed in the last few hundred Km's that if I pull up on the handle bars (towards the sky) there is a small bit of play up and down. Does anyone know what this is, is the steering bearing worn out or is it something I may be able to tighten? If I pull up and down, it moves about an 8th of an inch before hitting something solid. Steering feels tight side to side. Thx

Normal.....Yamaha steering bushings are plastic blocks with sloppy tolerances.

That's funny. I noticed that on 2013 with 700 miles out riding today. When we stopped i was standing on sled waiting to go and pulled up on bar a few times. It's a very slight movement. I just figured it was normal. If you would not of posted this I would of thot nothing of it???? Wonder if it suppose to do that?

Once you install a OFT relocater your movement will be gone.

If you take apart the steering blocks, clean them, re grease them and reinstall it will tighten it back up.

Yeah, the movement was definitely not there when the sled was new.If you take apart the steering blocks, clean them, re grease them and reinstall it will tighten it back up.

So, is something in the steering blocks getting loose by wearing out or are some bolts loosening off?

Mine was the same, When they are new they are well greased and over time the grease gets displaced and i am sure there is a bit of wear. Just take them apart, clean them up and put them back together tightly and i bet it will be good as new. Mine were. MS
