Has anyone experienced the condition where the heater switch does not activate the graphic bar? Happening only handlebar heater side, thumb warmer works fine. Swapped switches from thumb warmer to hand grips and hand grips still won't come up. The hand grips are working on high and and too hot, can't turn them down or off! Any advice would be greatly appreciated . From reading all the post, it sounds like I'm the only one getting too Hot, the majority don't get hot enough. Is this an ECU problem? Forgot to mention its a 06 rsVectorGT

Pull the handle bar pad and inspect the wires coming from the switch for damage. There are three wires coming from the switch, chocolate (ground), yellow/blue (decrease) and black/blue (increase). The increase/decrease wires send a ground signal to the ECU when the rocker is depressed. Because you can't decrease the power it's most likely a problem with the wire that decreases the setting or the ground wire. You can use a jumper to ground the Yellow/blue wire and if it works the problem is in the chocolate wire.

I will try that when I go back up north this weekend. Didn't swapping the switches rule out a wiring short?

swapping switches only verified that the problem isn't with the switch or the short wire harness attached to the switch.

Oh, so I will trace it all the way through. Just hoping that it's not a problem with the ECU.
Thanks for the help.
Finally got around to checking out the wiring, You were absolutely correct! The ground wire is open. I verified it with the schematic. With a jumper wire to ground, I was able to turn the heaters up and down. It's nice to have them turned down a bit since we are no longer in the sub zero temps. I'm not even going to try to find the break, just tap into the thumb warmer ground.
Thanks for the help!

Yamaha ground blocks have had some issues. You might want to find the exact cause before next season so you don't have additional problems.
