I want to raise my bars about an inch or 1.5 . Thinking of buying this ...
http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/produ ... etail.aspx
Supposed to raise your bars by 1.5 inches... Guide says it will fit the RTX. I have an 08 fx nytro. Does the RTX have longer cables or something? Thats what i'm worried about having enough cable length. Looking at it (without taking it apart) it looks like it do but I don't know about when I turn etc.....
Any ideas here... or the use of an alternate product to give me 1 or 1.5 inches of more height on my stock bars... Risers etc....

You will have plenty of slack, I have a 5in riser on my XTX and a steering relocate, the only thing I did was buy the MTX e-brake cable and all is good. The RTX has a different riser but the bar mount should be the same for all the Nytro's.

I put the powermadd powerriser on both the Vector and XTX last year, huge improvement.
The worst thing about having 2 sleds is having to buy 2 of everything.

I have the Rox 4-5.5 adj. riser, Fly Racing post to pipe adapter, and RSI race bend bars, went with different bars because with the set-up I had the rise in the handle bars was to much and would not allow me to raise the riser at all, but now with the new bars its perfect to stand and when I get tired at the end of the weekend I can lower the bars and sit with out feeling like I am ridding a chopper with ape hangers.

It depends on the the riser you have, my Rox has 1 1/8 and 7/8 clamping ability, factory bars are 7/8, the RSI bars I have taper to 7/8 so you can use the factory controls but its 1 1/8 in the center. RSI does sell a full 7/8 bar.
Yes, I did buy the RSI grips, and elements. I had them last year on my old bars and they work GREAT. Install wise they are easy, stick the elements on (using a heat gun gets them to stick on nice and flat) plug one end of the bar and use compressed air to slide the new grip on and repeat on the other side. As far as the wiring I believe I combined the red and blue wire and connected them to one of the leads from the stock elements and the remaining white wire to the second lead. wrap it up and secure. They work just like factory and are very warm, the most I would run them is 3-4 bars high, any more and they would probly melt the grips over time!
