Hi All, newbie to the 4 stroke world. Just bought a nice 2003 RX1 and looking to do the apex seat upgrade. Is there a handlebar riser that will work good with out extending throttle cable and wiring? Im 5'11" and right now I cannot stand up comfortably. I read somewhere a 2" riser is good and you dont need to extend anything. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks

You' want to go higher then 2 inches if you get the apex seat, i'm not sure of the prices on the rx1 mountain cables however powermadd makes a nice throttle extension that would work. go browse on firstplaceparts.com they have a lot of stuff that will get the wheels turning on what you can do with the ergonomics of the sled.

I would definitely go at least 4 inches since the apex seat is approx. 4 inches higher. Do yourself a favor and just get the cables from an 05 rx-1 mountain. Not that expensive if you order online.03-04 mountain cables are not quite as long as the 05. I recommend standing on the sled in your riding position and have a friend measure from your hands to the current bars to determine what riser you will want. Even if you go 4inches I bet you will end up wanting more.

Yeah, great idea, im waiting for travis from barn of parts to let me know what he has for apex seats in stock. I really want one with the red trim to match my sled but i think those are hard to find.

You can re-route the brake cable and hose but I think I put the longer ones in for choke and throttle. The Powermad riser that I used works out to about 3.5" and you can stand but probably not as comfortably as you would like.

I did the apex seat and riser. makes all the differance in the world. I dont mind the rear suspension cuz sitting up in the seat make it so ez to unload the rear.Just lift of the seat. you can see the up comimg bumps really good.
