Never put much thought into it, but does a person have to mess with the tie rods while replacing the ball joints? I've been chasing an ill handling sled every since i put my C&As on this year. I finally remembered the dealer did ball joints last spring so i went out and measured toe and it was 3/8" IN! So either i bent something to knock it out of whack, which i'm sure i didn't, or the dealer messed up my ski toe? I gave the tie rod end a couple turns in a snow bank and have it out about 1/8" so far and it was night and day better, but still seemed to dart a little on hard packed. I want to toe it out more, to about 3/8" out, right? Thanks, Mike.

I am not sure if thats right, but thats what happened me on my first ride and thats about what my toe measured. Pretty much solved my dangerous darting issue. I hit a snow bank and tipped on my side which through the alinement off in the first place.

the darting is normal - you can put a little more pressure in your center shock to take some away with c&a's

Are guys running duellies with their C&As? I have 7.5 Shapers. The skis are the "Trail X".
Yes, i was thinking a little more center shock, it's loose now. I'm getting closer, year 4! lol.

center shock should be tight enough that it is fully engaging the rear linkage - you have to transfer some of the pressure to the rear from the get go - machine will ride better with that setup - we only ran the stock 4-6 inch carbides in the c&a's. i think if you run doolys in c&a's you wont be able to turn them.

check your balljoints again, heres mine after being replaced, had 300 miles on them,l

dam good thing i spent the 500 on the no warranty, because we changed them out once already we won't honor our warranty, then they should build something that last more than 300 miles imo

Holy crap phaze! I had over 3000 miles on mine and i bet they didn't have 1/32" of slop. When jacked up like yours you had to really look and listen to see any gap or slop. I hope it's not the 'luck of the draw' when they replace them, or i would've never had them changed. I never looked at them this year, but i know they're not that far gone! lol.

you should see the skis dance down the trail, lol

i should of been a marine i just overcome and adapt haha

they said its a wearable part so i guess it will cost me 160 every 300 miles,

gloves are coming off now, so stay tuned for some cool vids,

I have C&A's on my sled with 9" Studboy Shapers and they work great with no darting. It goes right where I point it, but can turn a little hard at slow speeds.

PS also have the UP Bushman and OFT mods to my steering and spindles. Also Milled my upper ball joint mount like 08 Nytro guys did. Helps tighten up the steering a lot.
