I thought that I would check out the PIAA web site. Here is a link to a twin pack for $54 plus shipping.
http://www.shopatron.com/product/produc ... 0904/353.0
They are actually 60/55W bulbs that apparently put out the equivilent light of 135/125W bulbs. They are 4100K temp bulbs that claim to burn cooler because of the large glass surface area which will make them last longer.
If my Ultra's burn out again this season maybe I will give these a try!

The single "filament" bulb that physically moves inward and outward in the headlight housing for high/low beam control is interesting. How does this actually happen, is there a solenoid that physically moves the bulb in and out?
How well does this work? Can you get a good high beam aim and a good low beam aim with this set-up?

it's all part of the bulb,i don't know what really happens but it looks like a selenoid, there is also some lights that tilt the bulb,my brother has those and they work also.they hight beam aim is good and it looks like it's better than stock, they beam is wider so less high low split.Blue Dave said:yves F 7 said:I had osram lights last year,it was better than stock, very white, but this year i installed a set of high/low hid kit for cars, man what a difference, paid only 97$us free shipping and it is very easy to install,i bought them from :

PIAA's
I installed the PIAA's last week and they were much brighter, but the overall design of the yamaha headlight is flawed in that on high, there is no downward directed light so when you come over rises, you cant see what is under it. I had to adjust the highs down and the lows are a max of 20'. Must be Yamaha's way of reducing liability for people that ride too fast at night. I would give anything for an RX1 light pod on this thing. If anyone has an RX1, see if the diffuser, or reflective part in the fixture could be swapped with an apex.....or maybe I should just wear the cheaters......................age is hell!
