Hard starting and rough idle

My 06 Apex rtx has developed an issue this season. When it was very cold out (between 10 and negative 16 F) it was very hard to start. I had to pin the throttle to get it started and then feather it around 2,000 rpms for a couple minutes before it would run on its own. When it's warmer out (30-50 degrees) it will start without giving it throttle and will sound good for about a minute and then start running a little rough (varying rpms) for a couple minutes before clearing up and running / sounding normal. Any ideas?
I've done a ton of reading on here and have replaced the spark plugs - no difference. I also backed off the CO on each cylinder to -10... No difference.
What about the TPS? Is there a way to check that?
I see about cleaning the IAC... How do I do that?

It started the first and only trip this sled was run this winter.. started right at the beginning of the trip and used it about 400 miles, so certainly burned through any old/bad fuel.

Any other ideas? The sled has about 8800 miles. The battery is 3 years old. I have the sledstart remote starter system - not sure if that makes a difference or could be causing an issue.

If you can figure it out lots of people would like to know it seems to be a thing these sleds do after awhile.

These are the classic signs the valves are out of adjustment. Cold weather starts & poor idling, but runs good once warmed up.
Book says at 20,000, but most will see this problem 10,000 to 12,000 miles.

I had a faulty TPS on my 2007 Apex RTX. The sled would not start or idle unless you gave it throttle. It was getting way too much fuel. We filled it up and I ran out of fuel in 70 miles.

The TPS would effect it in all temps.
From what i can tell, Scooters' problem is only in the cold.

I adjusted the valves twice and no improvement, I am also leaning towards the tps. Two things I have done that have made improvements are:
Adjusted the throttle cable free play to provide a slight pull, this helped but I put it back because I was worried about not having free play. This simulated giving it some throttle to keep it running.
Changed the battery and this seems to be the best improvement so far, I need some more time to test as it was just done a week ago.

My first kick at the can on this I adjusted the valves and during initial start the crankshaft position sensor failed code 12. I replaced the stator and cps, aftermarket, and the condition went away for about 8000kms, I’m talking completely fixed. It started coming back slowly until it got bad enough for me to recheck/adjust the valves. This second adjustment I went a bit bigger on the exhaust valve clearances, the intake were perfect and have never been adjusted, even the first time. Sled now has 50,000kms and runs fine except for the stalling/idle issue. I suspect the tps and my next try will be to loosen the screws and play with it a bit while running.

There is also a chance that the stator/cps is the culprit, I have had it apart and tested them and even reset the gap on the cps with no luck, it could be something that is not detectable?

Just a note, mine always starts perfect cold and fast idles until warm, once warm the problem surfaces.
