I got my GPS for Christmas and now I am looking for a way to hardwire it on the sled with some sort of plug. I was going to use a cigarette lighter plug but heard that with the vibration the plugs come loose and fall out. So here is my plan: I was thinking of getting the wire that they use for the heated shields, running the female plug from the battery to the handlebar like you would a heated shield, then cut the cigarette lighter plug off the GPS accessory plug ( the one that goes from the GPS unit to the cigarette lighter) and somehow splicing on a barrel connector that will mate with the female plug. Anyone know where I can get a wiring harness from a heated shield or something similar?
