I am seriously considering going to a single pipe to try to save some more weight on my RX-1M.
The problem it seems is every post I have read says the guys who have done it have had to go back to the stock airbox to make the sled work right.
I don't want to pull off the ECP filters and put the airbox box back on (gaining weight) while trying to lose weight with a single pipe.
Has anyone had luck geting the carbueration correct with ECP filter and a single exhaust exiting under the tunnel?

A customer supplied his stock RX1 to me at the beginning of this winter. He installed an Excel single exhuast himself. He ran it with the stock airbox and jetting. It ran horrible. He brought to me for my air kit install and dyno tuning. I first installed the 165 main jets like most of the others and found it to be quite healthy. Then I tried 170 main jets and it made anywhere from .5 to 1.0 more HP, depending on where you measured the power at on the curve. I then thried 175 main jets and it fell too rich. I installed the 170 main jets and he is a happy customer! PIlot fuel screws were 1.75 turns open from a seated condition.

Give aaron a call at excell motorsports, he won't lie to you about his exhaust.

Thanks, I will do that but I was really looking at either a R-1 aftermarket single or a glass pack single so I can exit it into the tunnel and not above the tunnel below the seat.

Lee, I say throw on the single exhaust and then take it out and run it. Your plugs are going to tell you if you need to go up or down on jetting wouldn't they? Just my .02 cents! If you get the exhaust like mine I really don't think you will have any trouble if you are already jetted for ecp's. I didn't have to rejet at all. The can I have, the airflow is going against the baffles inside to create more backpressure. If you want me to I will have another one made up just the way mine is and send it to you. They are $55.

That's a very generous offer Aaron! I may take you up on it.
I would like to utilize the X of the stock pipe. I was hoping to buy TRXSTERS at some point (since he's getting a turbo). He has the single pipe welded to the stock crossover which Yamaha found added torque.
Thanks again for the info and the kind offer.
