My only concern would be if the bulbs were of a higher wattage, causing a greater drain on the system.

I was told the stock charging system has more than enough power for even bigger than stock lights!!

welterracer, I ran the Xenon bulbs last year and did not have any problems. Now, of course, I did not have anything else connected like heated shield or 12v accessory plug. I do plan on adding a 12v accessory plug for my Garmin GPS this year so time will tell if I run into any problems.
I put them in mine , I like them , the lite is a cleaner light , not so white. I don't think thery are much brighter but I do like that they have a blue tinge to them ( as we all know anything blue add speed)

In the Jan 2003 edition of SnowGoer on page 18, there is an article on aftermarket bulbs. I saw your post and remembered the article and looked it up again. The net-net was no big improvement over stock. But for $20, not really a big deal either.

I have them in my sled and they are a definate improvement over stock. I found the stock ones too narrow for my liking. The XENON HID's give a very bright wide light. I also have them in my truck where again..Big Improvement over stock.
I did not want to change from stock wattage so I kept them the same. I remember last year someone talking about melting the headlight lens.

They must be brighter because they sure are anoying when some has them and is following to close. All you can see infront of you is your shadow.

And that is why they are illegal in Ontario - except for vehicles that come with them stock.

Just a guess, but I believe he purchased the Brite Lite product at the link below. Click on the Brite Lite logo, then fill in the RX-1 field and you will see the blue tinted bulb. Looks pretty cool.

TEMBRO..I have the box at home. I'll check tonight and let you know.
Recently Crappy Tire started selling a brand that I put in my truck. I will also check those. They were a bit cheaper and if you don't want the blue tint they come in an ultra-white. $20 each if I remember.

this is what makes no sense they are illegal as an aftermarket item for what ever reasons but if you buy a vehicle with them stock its ok ..wtf kind of crap is that
i remember years ago i had a 78 shortbox ford lifted on 40"hawgs 8) and had a roll bar with lights on not just one but two toggles one to run power to the other toggle then that one to run the lights so u had to do two things before using them ..i got pulled over and they said it was illegal for me to have them and i said bullshit they sell pickups with roll bars and lights stock ..he preceded to tell me i was full of #*$&@ so the next day i went down to the dodge dealer took a few picks of the dakota which had what i was talking about and when it came time to fight ticket i showed the judge the pics and i won.... sorry just had to tell that story
