Hauck clutch pics

Buckeye: Instead of posting the story on the Micro why don't you sing the praises of the Hauck and show posts from reputable racers that use the hauck primary.

I'll tell you why you can't, No one that races uses one. Not even Pat Hauck. Allen knows Pat personaly and Pat uses a Yamaha Primary.

Now as far as the commnets on the Micro Belmont clutch. They are speaking of a clutch that is for Race use only. A clutch that has a removable spider like your clutch. Niether Micro or HRP would sell me one like that because as they told me "IT"S NOT FOR TRAIL USE". I talked to Olav Aaen for 2 hours at Novi and he told me the same thing. a machine making over 190 plus hp shouldn't use a clutch without a screw on spider to run around on the trails. I also spoke to Jeff Simons about it and he told there is know way in hell he'd run a cluthc with a removeable spider on the trail. It's not strong enough.

one more thing I didn't slam the hauck and niether did Allen. Your just pissed because some posted about a product you own!!!

I am not pissed at all. I buy what I want based on my needs, not anyone elses. I just think if you are going to down another product you should provide facts not just he said she said. How many Hauck clutches have YOU seen fail?
And, I have sung the praises of the clutch in my posts. My experience with it is limited at this point. Good or bad I will post my findings as time goes on. Just because someone else doesn't like a product I choose doesn't upset me at all. I have been around too long to worry what someone else thinks about that. I just think it is unfair to critisize the Hauck product without actually having used it. Talk about what you have had actual experience with. I have talked with Pat and he is running the clutch on his personnal Turbo sled.

IF I wanted to trash Pat Hauck I could do so. I chose not to. I never trashed your clutch. I simply pointed out you need to watch areas in the clutch that have potential to fail.

Sorry I was looking out for you and others. Next time someone buys somthing I have knowledge of and it could be bad I'll keep quit.

Buckeye, I wasn't trashing Hauck's product, I was simply stating if it was me I wouldn't run it because it's designed as a race application clutch. Now if all you're going to do with your RX-1 is lake race, then you have the perfect clutch, but if you're going to do alot of trail riding I would just keep an eye on it and inspect it after every ride.

For me personally I couldn't justify a 4-post primary for the trail. I would rather stick with the stock Yamaha clutch because unless you have over 190 hp it will work just fine. I have a friend who's RX-1 Mountain we've setup with a Bender Stage II turbo and are using the stock clutches and have had zero problems tuning it.

My only use for 4-post primaries come from race applications only. The trail issues I see with certain clutches are my own opinion. If you want to email me or pm me and discuss them, I'd be more than happy to. Heck if you want I've got a clutch that uses 6 flyweights, will it work any better than a standard Yamaha for the trail? Probably not.

As far as the new HT weights having problems, there has been 3 cases in which the weights have come apart. 3 out of a few thousand sales is pretty good if you ask me. Any weight can fail, that's what happens when you push the envelope with new technology. And for the old HC's I've probably had over 100 sets of them and only had 1 failure which was my own fault for not providing the proper clearance
