I just bought an 08 Apex LTX that has the Hauck GTRdone silencer on it, with no fuel accelerator . I was wondering if anyone knows if this is like a bike and the stock ECU is good enough to compensate for less back pressure?
I have not had a chance to ride it yet, it appears to run a bit rough at idle when cold compared to other Apex's I have had.
So far I had added a rear heat exchanger, larger wheels with replaceable bearing and waiting for my yamaheaters that I just ordered. I don't want to added a fuel accelerator if it's not needed. I have the stock exhaust and could just throw it back on.

There is a way to get into the stock ECU with a jumper wire and add fuel if you think you have to, but if it is just the silencer I doubt you will need to add anything.

I put a complete Hauck Mountain exhaust on my Attak for 1 ride. Picked up 300 rpm on top and seemed way more resposive. My hearing couldn't stand the upgrade though LOL.

Ya I hope to ride it this weekend to see if it's to loud for me. If so I will put the stock exhaust back on.

Do you have the header pipe also? Do you know which silencer you have? Loud non-legal, or a loud and legal? He has two fyi. I have the legal on mine and like it much better then his Nytro one. The Nytro one sounds like a pack a bees, also go me pulled over a couple times near you. They tested it and it was legal. Never got noticed or pulled over in the Apex for this. Just the guys in the group notice it (and like it ;)! ), not the whole forest LOL

Same here don't think youwill need to add fule just for a pipe. Air intake etc yes you should

I don't believe it is the loud non-legal since it just a bit louder than stock and doesn't make your ears bleed. It's just a silencer and not the header pipe. Probably be fine. Maybe I should just go get it tested by the DNR and carry the results with me. I ride often in the Iron Mountain area and it seems there is a lot of DNR in that area. Was pulled over and had trail permit and registration checked 3 times in one day

I have the hauck pipes and headers on my sled..not running any fuel programmer..been running this for two years now and no problems..a lot more power it feels like also..and I can't stand to drive anything quiet so I love the sound

Not to change the subject but, I gotta tell someone. All our snow is melting so I am working on this sled instead of riding...GOOD THING! It has the big boy spring and the previous owner was a bit heavier than me, so I checked the sag. It was at 65 mm so I adjusted it to 43mm (spec 40-45). Then I looked at the weight transfer..it was set to max.. so I adjusted it to 1/2 way between middle and min. Then I checked rear rebound and it was set to full soft so I set it to 15 clicks out from hard. Checked limiter and it was set one hole tighter ...good no adjusting. Checked the front springs and they were a bit stiff... loosened the front springs till they rattled then put 10mm of preload in.
Then I started looking at other stuff. It was over filled by 20 oz of dirty oil, the chain case oil was filled for standard not reverse, the chain was 1/4 turn tightened vise loosened, air filter kinda dirty. Well, everything is almost done. I will change oil and filter, shim the ski's and then ride it before playing with the front rebound and compression. Any suggestions for the front on a LTX with Ohlins?
