Since ordering my kit, It looks like the kit just comes with the head shim and not 2 additional head gaskets. So my question to everyone is. Would you recommend replacing both head gaskets with new or use the old gaskets?

I would use new Yamaha gaskets. they only cost about $25 each and for that much money it's not worth taking a chance on a gasket failure by using the old ones.

the mcx kit is supposed to be complete, my nytro kit came with head shim and 2 new head gaskets. call who you got it from and say wtf.

I just got off the phone with high altitude and it does include new gaskets. Thanks everyone, i freaked for no reason.

split the one gasket (new one)in half coper coat spray for the shim (soak the piss ot of it ) both sides and install the pieces of gasket one below and one above the shim. carefull note the correct position and direction of the gaskets so they mate correcly. installed that way on the apex. this way you keep slight higher compression and it does not leak as you are still uing gaskets, actually less chance of faileure

When doing that be prepared to bump octane from 91 to 93 at sealevel or 2 octane #s running it at 12.5 lbs of boost at any given altitude.
