Does anyone know why the front mount turbo headers crack? This one cracked pretty much right away after the kit was installed. Had it welded and it's beginning to crack again right above the repair weld. This pic is before the first repair, and the other of the doun pipe is the last reason for take the it apart for repair. It seems like this is happening alot from what I am reading.
I AM NOT IMPRESSED WITH THE QUALITY OF THESE COMPONENTS.

Only two types of front mount headers on the market.
Ones that have cracked and ones that will crack. :o|
I have approx 30,000k on boosted 4 strokes...engines will take it, headers will not.

It almost looks like the metal is really thin like it was in a fire.

header cracks

I have a Simons CPR front mount. I have repaired the header twice. I have 1700 miles on the sled. It has not missed a beat. I have fabricated a rubber mounted bracket to support the turbo. I have ridden the last 300 miles trouble free. Had the sled apart this week. Everything is great. This has solved the problem.

Last year, my header would go red hot and by the end of the season, it had cracks in it. This year, the elbow's in my header are thinner and the header is coated and I have no cracks. Why? The header never gets red hot any more because the meth injection cools it

So should we put meth injection on our sleds to help save the headers? Can we run a bit more boost as well with out upgrading rods and pistons.

The meth injection will stop detonation. Saving the header is really a by product. With less detonation, you can turn up the boost until cylinder pressure becomes an issue. The pistons and rods will need to be upgraded as the power increases.

Meth injection kit on site for only 439$

I was not going to say right at first who's kit this is, but it is a simons. I don't want to mean mouth Jeff, I think he has gone out of his way in the tech help in the installation process. I am very disapointed this has happened and so soon. Paid many of thousands of dollars and for it to come apart so quickly.
I hope the rubber mount does prolong the life of ther header. My next theory is the cnow comeing in through the 3 holes in the tunnel from where the factory exhaust pipes went. Could this cause problems?

My CPR header did exactly the same thing after 5 rides. I replaced it with a Powderlites that has gone the better part of 2 seasons now.

Header cracking

Well we have always been trying to make a great Turbo kit and only time is real true test in the real world. Not to bash anyone that has tried to build kits and parts but it's not as easy as throwing a turbo on something and it will run.
How long and how good is key in long term customer being happy.
Here is picture of 4500 miles first double down pipe care of Need-for speed emailed me on feedback of how headers are standing up.
I really don't want to sell headers unless you buy double down pipe and port your waste gate.
Thanks to all that bashed me before about problems including Need for speed and Turbo jamie and I took it as a good feedback.
Hope your all able to get your sleds running and go riding and spend time enjoying life instead of playing politics and acting only human when you get sucked into buying junk.
Hope you all take time when buying something that cost this much before jumping into the unknown.
Feels great to have a happy customer proud of his ride!
