Header tape question

I'm about to close the front hole (already have the rear hole closed) and I was wondering if I should use header heat wrap on the exhaust pipe? Probably gonna put on the Hauck get er done kit as well..advice is welcome.. pros and cons..the exhaust is stainless right?? Thanks

get the excell exhaust, power commande,r and ulmer clutch. Ulmer racing or Excell motor sport.

I have the Ulmer clutch kit.. I don't like the sound of the Excell exhaust.. but I think the Excell pipe looks the best.. got to pick sound over looks

Exhaust is stainless.When I closed my front I used the wrap and also the paint they sell for it to keep it from rotting off.Figured why take a chance on melting tank.

Good tip on the anti-rotting spray.. never thought about that. About how many feet of tape will I need?? Should I wrap it once or twice??

1 wrap should be fine. I used this tape on my 04 R1. Worked great, you could touch the tape without burning your finger. Make sure to soak the tape down real good in water and wrap it as tight as you can. Get the good clamps for them too.

ever hear the Excell exhaust in person, not the video????

No just heard it on Excells home page video..sounds way to loud and high pitched for my tastes(like a street bike exhaust )..the Hauck twin super traps sound more deep to me plus it can add or subtract disks..Tell me, how much better does your Phazer run with the Excell set up you have??

It's quite deep and throaty, sounds like a 4 wheeler or a supermoto with a pipe, it does not sound like a crotch rocket. Excell does offer a spark arrestor kit to muffel the sound and or change the tone. I have been thru a few check points for loud exhaust, and registration and have never gotten a ticket. I have never ran the sled with the exhaust only I did a whole butt load of mods over the summer last year so i cant pin point one thing. I am going to put another Excell pipe on my girlfriend Phazer and that will be the only mod she has. But again i wont be able to let you know how the pipe alone performs till winter.

Just ordered the Hauck get- er done kit..

$1000.00 shipped. Be here next week and installed by the weekend. Gonna get a freeride track next. Can't wait till winter!!!
