Sneaky smart Japanese.....

Can you say liability? From what I know of the Japanese, they are very precise in their design, so this whole headlight thing has me perplexed, unless of course....you add in Liability. There is absolutely no way the design of the pod (very small lenses) and the diffuser can effectively provide enough light in the right places at.... shall we say.....higher speeds? If its not a short beam on lows, its high beam in dust. a very effective design flaw that will help reduce night time speeds. Yamaha wants you around for next year and they were nice enough to take the blame of poor design for you.

Now would somebody with an engineering background and a plastic injection molding company please get to work on a replacement?? Or maybe I will just strap on a couple of Hella's to my front bumper.

I hate having to let my buddy lead with his new polaris, er i mean doo, er I mean polaris, er cat..........

just made my remote adjuster mod last night. i have 80/100 watt bulbs in. no mods to the mounting tabs or washers. hopefuuly i can find somewhat of a happy medium or atleast be able to dial it in close with my remote adjuster. we dont log too many miles at night. try to get out early in the morn and take advantage of freshly groomed trails and little traffic.

from what I was told by the rockmeister...you will overload your stator with those bulbs

really? i have seen a lot of guys on here running them. they are not the super super bright ones. i know there are some bulbs that are slightly higher wattage that require a different stator, but i didnt buy those.

took them out and put in silverstar ultras...hopefully they will last more than a season. dont ride a ton of miles per year so maybe i can get some better life out of them...i guess i better save my coin for hid's. thanks rockmeister and sj

adjust to where you want the high beam. I dont worry about the low beam cuz i only use it during the day, night is high all the time. With it adjusted where i want it my buds say its not to bright coming the other direction either... Im doing HIDs next year i think too if the ones in my dads sled hold up this year. :yam:

Has anyone tried running one High and one low on high beam? I have installed the HID kit and the brightness is great but when I accelerate they go up in the trees running constant is good braking is pretty good, but accel is very high. I thought one low beam and one high beam would be perfect
