Noticed on my wifes viper that where the exhaust flange connection is its wearing a hole thru the heat shield ( blanket ).
Im sure it will be fine for a while but was wondering if others have seen this and what others are doing....Aftermarket wrap etc??

Mine has had a hole there for about 4000 mile with no problems.

Yes. I bolted a piece of stainless to flange so it doesn't do it again. Will take a pic. Simple to do.

That blanket has a Velcro strip that sticks to the fixed side panel that sucks. I added more Velcro to the blanket to hold it in place and that took care of my same problem.

My sled had a little hole starting in the blanket also. I drink a Molson beer and then cut the can apart to get a 4x4 square and then stapled it to the back side of the heat blanket where it rubs. It worked so well I decided to drink one more beer and fixed the other sled also!

Here is what I did. Works well been on since last year. Patched hole with some foiltape. Holding up well.

Why isn't the Molson side out so you can see it when you work on the sled?My sled had a little hole starting in the blanket also. Preforming this Stage 1 Beer Can Mod with Milwaukee Best would void your warranty and possible cause a headache so use at your own risk! I have only tested this mod on 2 rides so far but seams to make my sled go faster, eliminates the hard starts, no more darting, clutch works better, and after drinking the mod beer the OEM seat bolt seams to work fine also!

Bringing a old post back up. Hey mark this fix looks right up my alley! I will be using a OEM bud light can. Only question is when you say backside you mean the can is touching against the flange correct? Thanks Chris!
