Bringing a old post back up. Hey mark this fix looks right up my alley! I will be using a OEM bud light can. Only question is when you say backside you mean the can is touching against the flange correct? Thanks Chris!
My viper has a piece on both sides. Been there 2 years.

Even better, that gets me up to a solid 6 pack job. I got bothe vipers to do. 4 beers worth of material and 2 more to get job done.

When there's no snow drink beers and then staple the empties to your sled. Sounds logical to me.....

I added 2 layers of aluminum tape and its stiff enough now where it hasn't touched the exhaust flange in over 600 miles.

Use a small file and hit the exhaust flange take away the sharp edges that rub on heat blanket. wont wear one bit in stock form no need for the beers. No wear marks yet 2000 miles later. I did add some aluminium tape just to keep it ridged so it wasn't so flimsy and it helped it keep it in position. so it wasn't rubbing or touching it at all.

Haha i could see it now!!! Getting stopped by the cops for having a loud pipe and once the panel gets pulled off you are now doing a sobriety test..lol
