Heated shield wireing

I finally broke down and got a heated helmet shield. I have read threads on here before about where to wire it into the sled but can't seem to find them now. So where do I tie into a switched, fused power source on my 08 RTX?

I’ve always ran mine to the battery with a inline fuse, it comes in handy having power to the shield with out having the sled running...

If I hook directly to the battery what size fuse are you using?

Most heated shields or goggles call for a 3 amp, I’ve used 3, 5 and even a 10 amp fuse without problems...

Both of mine are just wired to the battery, inline 3 amp fuse.

I was checking out a wiring diagram. The blue/white wire feeds the headlights. If I go this route do I need a heavier fuse and how much?

I powered my temp gauge from the blue white wire but I just put a fuse on that line also. should be fine.
