Just bought a 2020 xtx se, and put on some c&a pro xcs skis with 6" woody ace runners. At first the steering was heavy and atrocious, I have adjusted the center shock spring to where I can turn the handle bar on cement with moderate effort. Then I adjusted the camber to 0.2 degrees, and the toe out to about 3/8". The Steering is still pretty heavy at slow speeds and on the trail. Is dropping the front spring pressure the next step?

You could try, but it won't matter, that what C&A's do.. Heavy Heavy steering..

Thanks, I'll drop some pressure off the front springs and see if it helps... I hope it does, the whole setup sure cost enough. I don't mind a little workout, but I don't think I'll make my typical 400km+..... or I'll look like Popeye

See if you can get some Aggressive SnowTrackers for them, if you can't I don't think you don't stand a chance of lightning up the steering without ruining the ride trying to compensate for the super heavy steering.

C&A's are not the skis you really want on these machines. They are a loose snow Sno-Cross ski, not a trail ski. You could also do the BOP mechanical steering, but the C&A'a will still steer hard. Be cheaper to sell the C&A's.

Nothing I hate more than heavy steering, I rode Doo and it was bad enough that they gave me tendinitis. The way I'm setup now with Aggressive SnowTrackers on my single keel Pilot 5.7 Race skis and the BOP easy steer arms its a dream machine. Nice easy steering, goes where pointed and no darting. As a plus I can dial in the suspension for a good ride and not mess the balance up to compensate for steering effort.

Curves with semi-aggressive SnowTrackers work for me. No darting, easy steering and still bite in corners. I might try aggressives like Knapp next time once they wear out but everyone says they last a long time! We shall see. As I get older, I also will probably purchase BOP power steering as well.

C&A Pro 's are probably not the best choice for the Yamaha 4 strokes, although there will be some that disagree. In my finding the Cat ski with aggressive snow trackers is by far the best way to go. If you look at the new Strike ski it is very similar to the Cat ski and even has the same bolt pattern for the wear bar. The Cat ski with the staggered carbide set up also works well. I'm not sure why anyone would by a ski that was designed for a single wear bar and put them on a pro cross chassis 4 strokes it will definitely steer hard and dart around like crazy. The Cat ski was designed for the Pro Cross chassis and are fairly cheap compared to some of the other ski's out there. This is just my opinion from what I have tried over the last couple of years and I'm sure others will have different ones.

Thanks a ton! The local dealer has been trying to get me to run the kimpex stealth ski... He just might get his wish , unfortunately I'll probably lose half the value of what I paid for my new ski setup

The semi aggressive work damn well also. Never tried the aggressive or any other ski besides the SLP on 17 Winder. Went right back to the cat skis with 6" slim jims.. Last season ran some snowTrackers for the first time. Semi aggressive . Really like them. You ever feel the the aggressive catch or dig and throw balance of your machine? Not saying throw you off but kinda catch and dig?

Myself I prefer the Aggressive SnowTracker and would waste my money on the Semi Aggressive. The Semis tend to push more. They will all still push in loose snow however, even the Aggressive but they are much better than the Semi.

My Doo single keel 5.7 race skis are also much like the C&A's, but the trackers make them manageable and the BOP arms are the icing on the cake.

Maybe alittle when new, they are 4 yrs old now and I honestly think they work better now. I set them up according to instructions and adjusted from there. I have two sets of ski's and I run the Cat staggered carbides in the early and late season.

I had a pair of C&A's on a F1000 which is another heavy nosed machine, it was unnerving at 100 plus when the skis touched down and was a real handful. I put a pair of 6.7 Pilots on and it was like power steering, swapped them over to my current sled with 7.5 shapers center and 4" stock outers, perfect.

I just stopped wasting my money and bought a set of aggressive trackers.. Great timing as I can put my useless semi aggressive on a 21 8000 Cat for the Girlfriend!
;)!

Hey guys. My tuners are about ready for Skaggs and probably retirement.Think I may just get cat skis. Can I use the stock rubber or do I need the ones for cat?
