Heavy steering after changing skis

Couple questions: Do you venture off trail with the XTX? Stock 2.00" Track? What made you switch from the Yamaha Mountain Ski?

The Stock Yamaha MTN ski on an XTX SE does a very good job, steering effort can be light depending on suspension and carbide set up while offering good floatation and cornering confidence. If you are looking for a light steering I would stick with a round bar 6" on the MTN ski. ACE will give you more bite but add steering effort.

If you primarily trail ride the Stryke is another option. Steering effort is very manageable and you are able to fine tune your handling with carbides and Ski Shims. Depending on how much of a rush you are in these skis are projected to be available Early January in Canada, USA will be later in January.

I have have run most of the ski options out there: Tuners with multiple Carbides, C&A RZR, C&A ADX, BRP Pilot, Curve, AC 6" Trail, AC Crossover, Yamaha Mountain, Stryke. Staggered Carbides, ACE Bars, Dual Carbides, Shaper Bars, etc... You get the point.

Each ski has its own unique character or handling traits. Some better then others.

If you have the arms to turn the C&A skis, and don't mind the effort they bite hard in the corner. Cornering confidence is very high. For me I always found there was too much steering effort for my liking. An ACE bar on a C&A is also going to contribute to your hard steering. Typically a round bar or staggered set up will offer easier steering then a square profile bar.
