Heed the warnings boys

Got my letter today and decided to make sure it was tight (visual inspection was all I had done) and was able to tighten it maybe 1/8 of a turn...will talk to my dealer but I'm not sure I want to leave it there for 24 hours for something I can do myself.

What's yamahas fix?

Loctite and a re-torque. The issue is that from the factory the nut was snugged up to a burr on the frame. Overtime as the burr wears down the nut is no longer tight and could work itself loose. The fix is to verify the burr is removed/gone, add loctite and re-torque to spec. The sled has to stay for 24 hours at the dealer to ensure proper curing of the Loctite (FYI).

I saw a post on here last week and checked mine prior to riding last weekend and both left and right were tight. Rode 140 miles on Friday and then about 40 miles into Saturdays ride I heard a clunking noise. Stopped and looked and the right side bolt was about 3/8 of an inch out and the upper A arm was rattling around. So I stopped and was able to tighten it up with the spark plug socket looking thing (14mm) in the tool kit. I checked the left at that time and it was tight. About 100 miles later the left was a little loose, but I kept an eye on it and made it back to camp. Going to the dealer today. I can do the work myself but, might as well let the dealer charge yamaha an hours labor and have the repair documented with Yamaha for the future.

Head the warning

I suddenly lost control of my 09' nytro on friday. Veared right, hit a tree and flipped.Lucky only a few bruised ribs and a slight concussion. The sled however appears to be tweaked slightly including bent a arm mount. Brought to my delaer and noticed top bolt was missing. They never mentioned anything about a recall of any sorts. Anyone in the states receive a letter. Any thoughts if they should cover the repairs?

The bolt is totally gone?
I believe that in your case, they should cover the repairs. If not, contact a lawyer.

Sounds like is time to get a lawyer and take leagal action if indeed it was caused by this bolt falling out. Especially because it is recalled. I would think you would be eligible for some compensation and a new sled.

Here we go, it's the law suit all over gain, just like the Rhyno.... If you are OK and not seriously hurt, then take it in and get it fixed. The recall just came out last week...

call customer service teyll take care of you...might even give you a new sled!

Yes, the bolt was completely gone! I am not looking to sue but I do expect the sled to be replaced or repaired for free at the very least. I will keep you all posted. Please check this immediately so this doesn't happen to anyone else with a worse outcome. I had no real indication anything was wrong prior the the sled darting unexpectedly to the LEFT! (i indictated RIGHT on the original post)
