Help! Apex won't idle after turbo install

Just installed it and put in 3 stock head gaskets. fired it up and it won't even come close to an idle. If I hold the throttle open part way, I can get it to idle but tried the idle screw and the black knob on the end of the IAC with not much change at all. The pure logic box is set on 1 at idle and 2 at midrange. It will rev up, but it takes some playing with the throttle to get it to do so. I haven't tried to ride it yet. What next? Could the cam timing be off? I made marks and checked and double checked before putting it back together.

I'm sure others will chime in, but it's very likely your cam timing is off or a shim dropped inside the shim-bucket (measure each valve for proper clearance) - DON'T RUN THE SLED until you get it fixed or you WILL DAMAGE THE ENGINE! (like end up with bent valves or worse). Also, the extra thickness of the head shims will cause the cam timing to be advanced a little, which is ok for the exhaust, but you may want to retard the intake back to the stock marks (you can file on the bolt holes a little to rotate it slightly).

It will idle fine with stock cam timing and 3 stacked gaskets I know this becase mine does.

I think the chain jumped a tooth

Does someone have any pictures of the camshaft sprockets at TDC or an easy way to tell if it is off?
I have the valve cover off and the motor at TDC right now. I would post a picture, but the motor is still in the sled.
THanks

Thanks for the replys

I got it figured out. Thanks to lakercr. The timing was off. I'm going to go get some spark plugs and more coolant and then I'll fire it up again. I expect much better results this time.
