Need help...My Attak died while on a week trip to Ontario...not happy!

Sled ran fine for 70 miles or so. Shut it off and would not restart. When I turn the key to "on" the gauges react as normal however fuel pump does not energize and sled does not turn over when I turn the key to start. It makes no noise.. just dead.

I checked all fuses and they are fine including the one at the cellenoid. I checked the resistors and the one for the fuel pump clicks when I turn the key on but nothing more. I swapped it with another resistor but still no change. I have power to the cellenoid but none coming out the back to the starter. I jumped power over the bolts on the cellenoid and the sled will then turn over but not start and fuel pump is not energizing. I'm also getting a code 43 which tells me the ECU is not reading the voltage from the battery and there is an open circut in the line.
I'm thinking I either have a faulty ignition switch or a bad cellenoid. Anyone have any thoughts or input?
Thanks

Well, I might be wrong but this sounds like what happened to me. Leave all the relays on the sled and warm them with a hair dryer or just your hand. Then while warming them turn the ignition key on and off until the sled starts cranking. I bet it'll start this way. Sounds like both the fuel relay and the starter relay got ice in them preventing them from making contact. My dealer replaced my bad relay under warranty.

Interesting. I'll give it a try. I was very very cold when it happened as its been all week in Ontario (great trails though) I had been playing in the powder and then rode another 5 miles before I shut it off and it failed to re-start.
Thanks for the help.

Just a quick thought but make sure your battery terminals are not loose.
And also I agree with the previous thread about warming the relays a common promblem.

Yeah, I checked the terminals on the trail before I had my wife tow me to the nearest road. Lots of fun pulling the airbox on the trail!!!
The bright side is that there are no friendlier people around than those in Ontario. A couple pulled over for me on the highway south of Beardsmore and gave me a lift to Red Rock to get a truck and trailer. During our entire trip the hospitality up there was second to none.

you should just be able to remove the relays that are in the left fotwell, heat them just about anyway you can , and try them again.

Your description is identical to a problem I had earlier this season. My starter disintigrated inside the housing with no other symptoms than what you described...power to the solenoid relay, none to the starter. Even though it's tempting to think the relay is bad (which is exactly what I thought), you may want to put your starter on the short list of possible sources.

My dealer did the work, though I'm not sure how tough it would be to get at yourself.

My sled is fixed. Here's what I found out. Ground wire burnt through at the ground junction along the left side of the engine. Can't figure out what would have caused this, however the whole plug is melted. Nothing was hooked into the cig lighter plug. I have a electric shield plug and hardwired GPS kit, however they both have a fuse.
Dealer fixed and sled started right up. He let her run for a while and said the wires did not heat up. Figured the plug may have been bad and allowed an arc.
She's back running now but I already spent 700 miles riding double with my bride. Good quality time but not much fun riding!!!
