'04 Warrior. After filling with gas on pavement I was heading towards trail and a car pulled in front of me. I had to grab a fist full of brake to avoid a collision. I then put the sled in reverse because my path was blocked. Going forward again, heading to the to the trail, I hear a nasty grinding noise in chaincase
. I put the Limp Warrior on the trailer and drove back to camp. Tried to get the chaincase cover off tonight to have a look. The sucker is stuck. I've wacked it with a rubber mallet about 50 times, pulled and pried all I dare. Also, the chain tensioner bolt is binding. It'll move about a quarter turn either way but that's it. I welcome any and all suggestions.

Forgot to mention, while trying to remove the collar I noticed the set screw was missing. I doubt this had anything to do with the chaincase issue but was still odd. I sprayed blaster between the bearing and shaft after removing the collar in hopes that might help the cover come off.

I'm thinking the issue is that small bolt in the middle of the cover that I DID NOT remove.

As soon as I saw the title of the post, I knew that was what causing your grief.
Did you find out the chaincase issue?

Funny you replied. I actually found out this may be the issue by searching "chaincase" and found an old post you made asking someone with the same issue if they removed that bolt. I will get a look inside the case tonight and see what I'm in for. Thanks. As soon as I saw the title of the post, I knew that was what causing your grief.
