first ride of the season and noticed my hand and thumb warmer rocker switches are not behaving. Had to fight and wiggle them around to get them to adjust up or down on the display. Will look at connection corrosion first. Any ideas are appreciated.

I had to buy a new switch to fix mine.
You can pickthem up cheap on ebay

Doesn't make sense that both hand and thumb warmer switches would fail at the same time...thinking more of a ground issue, have yamaheater setup also.

Found the problem, guy on the web posted it on you tube, this should be a sticky...
Nice to know why it won't adjust and makes sense but this vid only explains why and shows you nothing on how to remove or take the switch apart.
All key elements for the DIY are missing. Not much Sticky quality here imo.

Yes, a bit vague to say the least, the hard part was to figure out how to get the switch out. First get a good trouble light and look everything over under the blue button, there is a seperate switch housing inside the whole assembly that bolts to the bar. You actually don't have to remove the whole switch housing from the bar but may find it easier. I did the second sled without removing the housings from the bar and went pretty slick. You have to remove the inner screws and plastic plate where the wires go in, then remove the metal retainer plate that hold the wires to the plastic housing, then use a pick and pull the rubber boot around the wires back a bit, get some slack in the wires pulling them toward the switch, then use a pick to pry up on the GRIP SIDE of the switch base under the blue button, don't pry on the button itself.. It pops out and you then have just the switch and button held together by a locking tab that only needs to be separated on on side or the other to pull it apart. Be careful and keep the wire side up when separating. There is a tiny spring under the triangle copper piece on the button side that you don't want to lose... Clean the copper, coat with die-electric grease and reverse assembly. Make sure the rubber boot is pulled back through the switch housing first with the wires as you re-assemble, if it has worked back toward the switch it will not go back into the housing, tight fit.

Yes be careful not to lose anything. Mine was dirty. Was able to turn temp down but not up. Pin goes through only one way. Also had to cut back the plastic that has the 3 wires wrapped in it to move rubber back enough to pop out the unit. It’s also -28 today.... hence why I need my heated grips
Edit: putting the pin back through and testing it I got the same results. Would turn heated handle bars down in temp properly but not up? So I stretched the spring sitting behind the copper plate out abit and reinstalled fully. It’s working now but I have to put slight pressure in the middle of the switch while pressing up ,turning up the heat. It’s a possibility these switchers wear out or I just reinstalled incorrectly? Either way it’s working and that’s good enough for me til it’s warmer haha. So before taking it apart maybe try pressing in the middle.
