So I was changing the exhaust donuts on my attak and while loosening one of the hex head bolts that hold the Y pipes to the tunnel completley rounded out and now I'm not sure what to do Any suggestions?

Slot it deeply with a dremel then use a ratchet extension and a socket with a flat head in it and take your time, itll come out!, we have all been there!

Also, heat up each bolt one at a time with a propane torch, and make sure its hotttt! Its proven to work by many here includng me!

If the slot don't work, do like I did and drill out the rivets in the bracket that holds the bolts. Then get the bolts out on the bench, and rivet it back to the chassis. That's the only way I could get mine the fiirst time I did the job. The heads were pretty much rusted off.

This is what I did. I made the mistake of not heating them first and it stripped. I asked Port Yamaha how they replaced them when I was ordering the donuts and they said they always drill out the rivets.

Since then I have replaced the donuts on 2 other sleds and just drill out the rivets.

Pic is of new rivets installed...

Isn't it fun working on snowmobiles. Especially when your doing something that should last more than 3000 miles!!! :o| :o| :o|

I keep a little tube of valve grinding compound in my toolbox.Put a little dab on the fastener in question, and the grit will grip the nut/bolt like you can't believe! Try it! Jay
