I'm going to Whitehorse, Yukon (for the first time) in 2 weeks. I can't find a single business that rents mountain machines.

Do any of you know a TY user who lives in Whitehorse that could point me in the direction of getting my hands on a sled?

I'll obviously pay - he'll i'm even considering buying a new or used unit and using it for the weekend, then flipping it after I leave.

Any help appreciated. I'd be riding with it January 24th thru 27th (but mostly the 25th/26th)

Cheers,

YK

I would post this on snowest also. Just my .02 to get more info

even from listers? hmmm other than those two places I cant think of any other place that has a machine to rent

May I ask what's the need to rent one there? - only because they laughed at you, similar to going to PEI and asking the same thing I would imagine - there's none there because they aren't useful or needed there?

Which would make it very hard to flip one I would also think?

We have two amazing summits very close to us, this year has been a crazy year for snow as well. mountain machines are in high demand..... However the insurance up here to rent a machine is too high for anyone to make a go of it.
Quite a few places had tried and non have made it a full winter.

What Yukon Yamaha said, they're useful and needed, and popular, but rental places don't want the liability of offering them because they come back wrecked so often.

Glad to hear that you have a sled lined up.

A friends brother rides with a group in Whitehorse and I was going to make some phone calls to see if I could round up a loaner for you. Looks like that won't be necessary now.

For what it's worth, I really like Whitehorse. A lot of good people there. Hope you enjoy your stay.
