I have oil coming out of the rubber hose that connects to the intercooler. I believe this line is supposed to be a breather or drain off excess oil that accumulates in the container on the side of the intercooler. The oil pump is literally pumping the oil into the intercooler and then out this tube. Any ideas.

Talked to Erik and it appears they've had problems with the auxillary oil pump on about 4 kits and it looks like mine is one of them. Going to check and see if we can do something easy to fix this pump or I'll have to wait for another pump.

I have a front mount, but it sounds like you have installed the lines incorrectly. Two lines to the intercooler. One from the fuel pump pressure regulator and one from the T you installed on the carbs. The oil lines are one from the oil filter adapter to the turbo in and the turbo out to the vlave cover or the line on the front of the crankcase. At least that is how the front mount works.

The oil is supposed to come out of that tube,it's a system that Yamaha designed so that when the machine rolls over it doesn't spill oil out the vent tube. That little canister on the side of the intercooler is separated inside,so the oil goes in the big tube and then drains down to the bottom of the crank case.

Found the line I was missing. The picture was misleading me on my hose routing. Got everything fixed and now it purrs like a kitten. Now my only problem is Hartman sent me the wrong rail extensions so my track is banjo tight with the adjusters turned in as far as they will go.

Could you explain this better. What does Yamaha have to do with the intercooler?

Hartman probably sent you the extensions for last years rails like he did with me, they work fine if you just round the corner off and drill another hole. I also just changed the oil return line location, instead of a tee into the line on top of the oil tank, they want it teed into the line that goes from the new plenum mounted tank down to the fitting on the timing cover.

Yamaha didn't have anything to do with the intercooler, but when they designed the air box,it's quite different. So when Erik designed the intercooler he had to design the same type of oil tank on the side of the intercooler.

Is this specific to the rear mount?

No,just specific to the Vector.if you look inside the air box of the Vector, there is a little box on the right side of air with orange silicon oozing out from around the side, that's sealed so that the oil stays in.

I've got a similar problem with mine, it keeps puking out of the breather which comes off of the little colector pot attatched to the intercooler. It makes a heck of mess under the hood! :o|

I did do the update that you are talking about but that was more to eliminate the turbo smoking problem, which it did. I did hear of one other guy having the same problem but not sure if he was able to remedy it. Anyone heard of this or have any suggestions?

Thanks
Doug
