Ok just went on 4 day trip.
- Left home (4deg) started FINE, just turned key, like I've done for past 3 yrs. (200 mile day)
-Next day (-2deg), turned key, started but stumbled so I touched throttle and then stalled and wouldn't start (flooded). Dealer said I shouldn't touch throttle and suggested hold 1/2 throttle and don't let off key. Well it started and held high throttle until warm. ran great and started great all day. Thought I was all set. (300 mile day)
-3rd day, (5deg), tried to start, almost did, major back firing. Was going to have local dealer pick up but after and hour or so we got it to start. Still brought to dealer for new plugs and reflash. Dealer also said to cycle key twice and then start.
-4th day, tried 2 cycle key trick, but start great for 20 seconds and then stumbled. I finally played with throttle to keep going until warm. Fine all day with numerous starts. (made it home)

Next day at home (12deg) tried my old way to start, started but then started to stumble after 30 seconds, played with throttle and kept it going.

WHAT IS WRONG????? Asked dealer, he said probably needs valve adjustment (expensive) sled has 8300 miles. Don't want to say he is wrong, but up to 3 days before it always started fine, even in colder weather.
ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS? Throttle adjust? Bad sensor?
2014 Yamaha Viper (all stock, original owner, always maintained well)

Mine without compensation with tuner (PCV) require 2 tries to start unless a little throttle is applied almost everytime. Change your plugs and try again. Its simplest and cheapest thing to try. I will be doing mine soon.

Plugs and reflash just done after first two days. Like i was mentioning, It started perfect when i left on trip, Now its terrible. Could something have broken? Starts then stalls in 20 seconds and then is flooded. Took 1 1/2 hrs to start on one of the days. I just cant believe its valve adjustment, when it went form good to bad that quickly
