HELP!! on a fault code

My buddy has an 03 RX-1 and it is giving him an 02 fault code. It won't run and acts like the battery is dead but its new. What up?

The code for 2 is the grip warmer, means short-circuit. Try disconnecting them and see if the code goes out. Also this will draw much current and act like the battery is dying. If you know how, you can check the grip warmers with an ohm meter after they are disconnected. If they read 0 ohms they are shorted.

Dude thank you so much you are right. I work in the elctrical industry so I used a Fluke meter and sure enough they are toast!!!!
