Need to set-up my 03 RX-1 Mtn so the clutching is better for my situation. Currently set-up from factory for 8-10,000'. Would like set-up more for 6000 - 8000', and keep stock gearing. Having a little trouble detemining what rivets to use with stock gearing to achieve proper rpm ranges. Here's factory specs, any tuners out there?
All specs the same except for gearing and rivets in weights

under 2500' - steel 17.2 w/hole (inner) steel 17.2 (outer), 23/40 gearing
2 - 4500' - steel 13.3 (inner) steel 13.3 w/hole (outer), 23/40 gearing
4 - 6500' - steel 13.3 w/hole (inner) alum 13.3 w/hole (outer), 22/40 gearing
6 - 8500 - alum 13.3 w/hole (inner) alum 13.3 w/hole (outer), 22/40 gearing
8 - 10,000' - no rivet inner or outer, 21/40 gearing

Couldn't get my hands on gear or I probably would have just changed it too.

Get rid of the stock weights, they work extremely well as fishing weights. If you're into boondocking and exploring, then I've found that the 8dn1760510 (51.6 grams),weights work great with a p/p/p long spring and silver secondary. If you want more top speed, then the stock set up from the 05 RX-1 works much better than stock.

The set up below is very good for the higher elevations, I would suggest you start with this set up, but with a little heavier rivets. My sled consistantly pulls 10,000-10,400 rpms. Buy a big selection of rivets (they are cheap and easy to change) and spend a weekend where you ride dialing in. The weight of the rivets can be different for different sleds, they do not all run the same.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Change Primary clutch weights to part# 8BU-17605-20-00 (8BU10), rollers to Part# 8FG-17624-00-00 (14.5) and two alum rivets per weight 90621-06028-00 (10.3). Change secondary clutch spring setting from 1-6, 70 degree twist to 2-6, 80 degree twist (use stock spring), this will make it down shift properly during hill climbing and in deep powder.

Thanks for the help guys! I found a set of both weights in the garage (8DN00 and 8BU10) and I put in 8DN to try - will keep you posted! The help here has been amazing, great group of guys. Also, I have a Hi-Tech Secondary with a 48 helix, has some adjustment on it - anybody know if this is something I should try on sled? How do you tune?
