Doing a little maintanace on sled. First I am putting on a new intense Track 1.5 . In doing it I found that my secondary shaft on the clutch side has a bearing , collar then a nut. I am replacing the nut beacuse my has come of the collar and then wore out more than once. But i noticed in the manual that I might be putting the nut on backwards. The nut has a spring steel style lock washer built in it. I have always put the locking side in towards the motor, and went on real easy that way. But when you look at the pictures in the manual it seems I might be puting backwards or wrong.

Got any pics of what you are talking about because I don't have a clue. Secondary (jack shaft) should have the bearing mounted in the sled and the end sticks out which the secondary clutch mounts on. There should be a couple of shims then the clutch more shims then put the washer then collar on the bolt and install into the clutch which threads into the secondary shaft.

i'm guessing you have lost some threads on the threaded collar and its not grabing.yes the steal locking part of the nut should face the engine or chain-case side.
Sometimes rocks and crap can lodge in there and back nut off or prevent nut from going on properly.
you might want to change the threaded collar. to change the nut i belive you would have to go back into the chanincase to get transfer rod out to change nut if its messed up. if doing that you might as well change the secondary clutch bearing while you have it out. hopfully its just the threaded lock collar that slides into the bearing.

and re-reading your post i see the nut is worn. so bearing has to come out. unless you have already don this.
sorry i'm a little broggy this morning
