Looks like a stud got it...a small stud sized hole.
I limped her home..about 5 miles...stopping twice to
let her cool...she was pretty hot..hope I didnt do any
Engine damage.
My question is, can I patch it with that jb weld putty, container says
It works on aluminun..never used stuff before..only have the one
small hole...otherwise exchanger looks good. Any tricks to adding coolant??
Thanks

I have had great success with JB weld.
This is not a temporary fix. I have put a total of 11000 miles on the sled and more than 7000 miles and many years since the fix and it looks like the day I did it.
We cleaned the area and then roughed up the surface to really bond. I also repaired an aluminum oil cooler radiator for a john deere tractor also lasting for years.
I know I will not hesitate to use it again........prep is everything.
My two cents

Thanks for the replies guys...i am gonna try the jb weld
I dont have a heated garage, and am not a good mechanic,
which was the main reason I bought a yamaha
She was running awesome today...i dont miss my old crossfire
at all..love this sled. I know I will never have the skill to get that
front exchanger out...that looks like a major job...unfortunately
I dont have the cash right now to take it to a repair shop.
Total bummer, the trails were great today

Shame......you will need heated area for JB weld. Did you talk to Kip or Chad? I would not tackle either. We ride not wrench.
