lol...i give up..i am not that proud.
off to the real mechanics it goes.he said there has been some bad gas this year but at the end of the day i just wanna ride!!! besides , i gotta get it going before the guys really break me !!
that was three times the carbs were out for those of you keeping track

I am thinking maybe adding inline fuel filters just to eliminate the gas tank from the problem. This way carbs and pumps only get filtered clean fuel and its got to be the easiset thing to do.

Well the good news is you are getting it fixed bad news is you may have just take. The spot light off me for backyard mechanics as at least I got to take mine on a ride to blow it up lol .....
But at least you tried and now know more about your sled then 95% of the guys we ride with.
Tutlies owes me $5 bucks cause he don't even know the difference between the sound of a stock Cat (spit) and a piped one.
Hopefully you get her back soon so we can ride.

If your starter is just winding out without kicking in its your starter clutch. You need to take the right side panel off drain the oil take the oil can out then the engine cover on that side order a new seal for that side (11 bucks). Pull the flyweel off with a puller then take the clutch assembly off. Now with the sprag bearing out there is a spring which holds the whole thing together take it off careful not move any parts or get them backwards on the sprag. Untwisting the spring where they meet shorten it about 1/4 in or a bit more twist it back together and put it back on. That will fix your starter slipping problem and now just put it all back together. I have a link in my post about fixing my starter. I put a new used one on mine then I found the link on how to fix the sprag bearing so its up to you. Put a new or new used on or fix yours.

its going straight back to the mechanics, i dont mind picking away at stuff in the off season , but its ride time, and i am wasting time.
thanks for the heads up , thats along the line of what i thought.how about that pull start question?for future reference , should i learn to do that to get out of a jam?would it have worked?
