During my last sled trip I was riding in an area I knew so I turned my "tracking" off (this is something I have never done before). Durning the coarse of the trip I had stoped and restarted my GPS this now has left straight lines between where it( the GPS itself) was turned on and off ....So I would like to remove the straight lines left behind but do not want to lose the "tracks" that have been saved and appear on my GPS. So far I have not been able to find out how to remove the straight lines left behind without deleting all my valuable tracks.??? I have down loaded it to my laptop and can not edit out just the unwanted lines.?? Any help would be awsome...

Mine is a Lorance I-Finder Hunt but I think this part works the same.
Example: If you are making track 21C (example) and turn it off and then turn it on somewhere else and leave it on/making 21C it will draw the straight line. In order not to do the straight line you have to remember to change the track name. You can add to an existing track if it is right there. Or if you get to the track you have named it will erase the straight line. CLEAR AS MUD.
As far as editing the straight line, I can't on mine. I just get rid of the track and make a new one or leave it on as you know to ignore a long straight line. Mine are called trails, same just different wording by different brand.
Hope this helps.

Ya ...I dont think I have the option of removing the unwanted straight line that was created from having the tracking button turned off.... as far as I can figure?? I think its crazy you cant just be navigating useing your GPS with the tracks turned off without it leaving the silly straight lines from point "A" to point "B"after stoping or turning off the unit. Once down loaded to your PC ...along with other tracks that where saved when tracking was ON I can not remove the unwanted straight lines when tracking was turned off.???canadianhunter said:Mine is a Lorance I-Finder Hunt but I think this part works the same.

Are you uploading the files to Mapsource? The trails can be split, points deleted, joined, created, and edited in Mapsource.

What Grimm said. Very easy in Mapsource (or Basecamp, for the 21st century, sorry Grimm).

Yes Grimm I have uploaded to mapsource.... It will not recognize the the (unwanted) straight line as a track that can be deleted ??? It s seems the only way I could delete the straight lines is to delete other valuable "tracks" from the trip also? I have spent time reading up in the manual but Iam missing somthing? Lots to learn... I want to thank you guys for any help! great site.Grimm said:Are you uploading the files to Mapsource? Can you use the track divide tool (the scissors icon) to split the track at your "unwanted point", then delete only your straight line section using the track erase tool (the eraser icon)?
