For those of you who say the update doesn't work any better, double check you install and make sure it was done correctly. I rode mine for the first time this weekend and they got HOT! We rode in single digit temps and I turned them down. Here's the catch, they didn't feel like they worked at all until I started riding above 5000 RPM consistantly. Once I did that, they got real hot. All in all, I was pleased

when I road mine the 1st time at 10 degrees, they were short of spectacular. I put foam inside the bars and when I road this weekend, they were warmer at -8 then there were before at +10. Much better. Simple, but can be messy to install.
:jump:

my warmers heat up great with gauntlets, without gauntlets forget it, even with the powermadd hand guards, this is the second new pair i've had, if i have to wear gauntlets so be it, this has been beaten to death, Yamaha nows they screwed up and wanted to get a quick fix so we have to live with it, as long as my machine gets me out and back home i can live with it

Its not a upgrade problem installation. I have an 07 and they suck ! I will be trying the foam cure this week.

I would say my warmers are warmer but I also still would not go without gauntlets, now for my new pilots skis this is a new sled with these installed.I just love how they handle and no darting!!!

The updated bars work great! -4F today and they got pretty hot. Add handguards and there's no reason for cold hands.

have new bars , 150 miles this weekend with cold hands . +2 f. there is no need for this ,worse than last years . installed old bars on 1998 xc and are red hot wtfffffkkkkk is wrong here ???? my thumb warmer is no good either ,it only gets warm at any speed . installed by the book and rechecked ????

I rode with the new bars for the first time last weekend and at +11F my hands were cold. Last week I put the foam in the bars and at +8F this weekend they were very warm. I actually has to turn them down, I do have the mid height windshield though. It’s a messy procedure putting the foam in the bars. Cover your side panels to protect them from the foam that will leak from the bars for about an hour after you install it. I also put tape on the end of the grips (to keep the foam off the grips, that stuff is almost impossible to get off of anything it gets on) and poked a hole in the tape for the straw on the can of foam. Once you fill the bars with the foam it expands and will continue to force its way out of the holes in the bar ends.

did u use low expansion foam and high expansion foam for this? i jsut bought some handguards and now goin up north i a week and gettin kinda scared of all these complaints. might as well do the foam and brign last years guanlets. thanks
JP

Has anyone checked the voltage output? According to the manual using yel-red on one connector, and black on the other, with the heater on high @ 1500 rpm should have 4-5 volts, and @ 4000 rpm 12-13 volt. Mine aren't getting real hot either, and the voltage over 4000 is only 6 volts, half of what it should be.

I think it was low expansion foam because it was for filling in small areas. There was some form for filling in large areas and I assume that is the high expansion foam. My opinion..........I wouldn't go riding without adding the foam.

the updated warmers are just that..warm. At -20c on Saturday night I could feel them right out to my pinky fingers. Although not HOT on FULL, they were still warm at those temps.
